Well, after one long journey of working and saving and breathtaking moments, we are actually. leaving. tomorrow. Ahhh!!!!!! We are so very excited!
Our next couple days will look roughly like this...
26 Monday
We'll be heading out of Sacramento late in the evening, so hopefully we'll get to sleep some before landing at our first layover in Philadelphia Tuesday morning!
27 Tuesday
Arrive
in Philadelphia at 6:24 a.m. Precisely. Not 6:23 or 6:25. Don’t even think
about saying 6:26. Since we have
a 15 hour layover here (not our choice), we plan on seeing Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell,
and hopefully Valley Forge. We will also be eating large quantities of Philly cheese steaks and trying not to get mugged in what was once the City of Brotherly
Love. J Then we'll head back out on our second flight in the evening.
28 Wednesday
We'll be landing in Dublin at a decent morning hour, waiting a while, and catching a hop to Paris. In Paris, we'll pick up our rental car and drive about three and a half hours to our first stop, Nancy, France.
As one last parting thought, it has been incredible to continue to grasp a greater understanding of how important this trip really will be...obviously we knew that going into it (that was a lot of housecleaning...and babysitting...and we knew it was worth it!), but the last couple months have afforded us a deeper realization of how much our soldiers went through, what they died for, and what we must live for...and protect...and carry on. Thank you all so much for your encouragement, support, and prayers and for helping to make this journey happen.
And so we embark on Operation Honor!
We're with you all the way - in spirit and in prayer!
