Operation Honor, Normandy 2014

Merry Christmas!

We are so excited to share our dream for 2014 with you! Call us crazy (it's true), but we have been praying about and planning for this idea for many months, and we've decided we're going to try to make it happen! We and Dad would like to be on the shores of Normandy, France on June 6th, 2014 to honor and thank those who fought there for our freedom 70 years ago. Included in this once-in-a-lifetime experience would be participating in a WWII parade, exploring the countryside surrounding Sainte-Mère-Église (one of the first villages to be liberated), visiting the Dachau concentration camp, and hopefully taking a quick exploit into the fields of Austria.

We have already spent the summer researching, planning, working, scrimping and saving, and we are getting creative as the year draws closer to Christmas and the time approaches for us to buy our plane tickets!  First of all, we would be so appreciative if you would keep us in your prayers. Secondly, if you are interested in helping us out financially, there are two ways you can do that. One way is to donate to our trip's PayPal account by using the donation button that is so very conveniently located on the right hand side of this page. Additionally, we will be offering some handmade gifts as part of our fundraising ventures, so if you have any last-minute Christmas shopping (or birthday...or New Year's...or Valentine's Day...) keep us in mind! We would be so, so grateful if you would consider helping us make this trip a reality. We will be updating this blog with our gifts and with new information, and by God's grace with pictures of France come next June! Thank you so much for your time, and have a merry Christmas.
